Attached below is the Summer Session 2009 mailer that was sent to the homes of all K-5 students invited to summer session. You may print out and use this form to send home with students that "walk-ins" or admitted after summer session has started, filling in the blank Transportation information by hand.

Attached below is the ALC K-5 student summer registration form. Designated Site Leaders and Data Entry Clerks should be printing and disseminating this form to classroom teachers. Classroom teachers complete this form for students who will be invited to summer session based on one or more of the following ALC qualifying criteria:
1) One or more year's behind in classwork
2) Two or more grade levels behind in achievement or local (MCA) test scores. All not meeting or partially meeting standards qualify
3) Chemically dependent
4) Pregnant or parent
5) Victim of physical or sexual abuse
6) Having experienced mental health problems
7) Having experienced homelessness during the last six months
8) Are or were on an IEP
9) Expelled or excluded
10) Speaks English as a Second Language or has Limited English Proficiencies
11) Referred by district

The completed form should be sent home with the student for parent signature and given to the Data Entry Clerk or Site Leader when returned to school. The Data Entry Clerk is charged with entering all invited students into the ALC on-line summer session registration database. This includes entering summer session drop-off information that may be different than the home address. Site Leaders and Data Entry Clerks must enter all students that received a summer session invite form ---including students that may not have returned the form. All returned forms are collected by the Site Leader and Data Entry Clerk. A copy of the form can be made for use in summer session, the originals should be returned to the ALC office (ALC-Elementary, 1780 W7th St.) Data Entry Clerks are responsible for correcting student information entered into the ALC registration database (especially address information!) until the last day of regular school. The Data Entry Clerk's job is completed on the last day of school

The information regarding Summer Session 2009 is out!


Staff please note the following important information:

1) Summer Session will be in operation Monday, June 22-Tuesday, July 14 (no class on Friday, July 3rd). Programs will operate 6 hours per day, starting in the morning, exact times to be announced.
2) There will be a paid, staff setup and meeting day, on Friday June 19.
3) All staff must apply on-line at: https://alcelem.spps.org ...click on job applications.
4) All of the job postings, containing job requirements, terms, and conditions of employment, are located at the on the job applications page. It is the responsibility of each applicant to download and read the job posting.

Attached below is a document (.pdf) containing the ALC-Elementary K-6 Continual Learning Plans (CLP's). Site Leaders and teachers should use this document as a starting point in preparation for beginning an ALC session (Extended Day, Summer Session, Intersession). The CLP that each classroom teacher is required to complete following an ALC session is identical to the attached document below. All CLP's must be completed on-line, at the ALC Continual Learning Plan site. The document below should be used as a reference point for planning, not as a template for completing a hard copy CLP.
